Media Hive Table Mountain View Location
Cape Town successfully hosted the FIFA draw on 4 December 2009. As a result of the draw the teams now know their groupings and can make an educated guess on the cities they will be playing in. All eyes are now on the soccer world cup in 2010. The Media Hive building, based in Cape Town is ideally suited to provide Broadcast services for the 2010 soccer world cup. ![]() The Media Hive building has a roof top area with Table Mountain as a backdrop. This is ideal for shooting a presenter in foreground with table mountain as a backdrop. ![]() The view from the Media Hive roof can be seen from our live webcam.
![]() The rooftop position allows broadcasters to film a presenter with Table Mountain as the backround. To compliment this rooftop view the Media Hive has a 140 square meter television studio. The studio is soundproof and rated at NC30. A full lighting grid can be populated with Kino flos or TV lighting of the broadcaster's choice. A full CAR (Central Apparatus Room) is on offer in the Media Hive. Formats like Sony SR, XDCam, HDCam, DVCam, HDV and Panasonic P2 are supported by the CAR. ![]() FTP (file transfer protocol) services are available for media and footage transfer to overseas servers. Camera rentals and sales are provided by Visual Impact. Both HD(high definition) and SD(standard definition) broadcast equipment is available. Visual Impact offers a range of ENG packages. The Visual Impact Data lab provides transfers from solid state media to hard drive and mass storage services. Broadcast crew can be accessed free of charge from our crew portal. |
